Disney Second Screen Features

What is the timeline and how does it work?

You use the Timeline to navigate the Disney Second Screen experience. You can follow along with the movie, or explore any point along the way. As you check out a hotspot or gallery, the Timeline keeps track of your synced position. At the base of the timeline there are two indicators -- one shows you where you are in the movie, and the other, where you are in the app. When you're done exploring, press the SYNC APP TO MOVIE button to bring you back in line with the movie.

What is the EXPLORE ON YOUR OWN Mode? Why can't I view all the content in EXPLORE ON YOUR OWN mode?

Disney Second Screen is principally a "sync with the movie" experience. After you download the app, you will have two options - SYNC WITH THE MOVIE or EXPLORE ON YOUR OWN. Selecting EXPLORE ON YOUR OWN enables you to explore a robust sampling of the content without having to achieve any type of sync. Choosing SYNC WITH THE MOVIE and achieving proper sync allows the full experience to work, and permits you to explore all of the content.

What are the social media features of Disney Second Screen and how do I use them?

Disney Second Screen contains social media features that enhance and add another exciting layer to the experience. Connecting with Facebook and/or Twitter through Disney Second Screen while watching your movie allows you to participate in activities and events, share with family and friends, and earn tickets. All you need is the Disney Second Screen app and a Facebook and/or Twitter account. If you do not log in to a social network, the features for that network will not appear. Social media features are found on the Disney Second Screen app only and do not appear on the Blu-ray Disc.

Check-ins
Watching the movie with social media features activated allows you to check in to some of your favorite locations throughout the film and share this information on your Facebook or Twitter.

Like
You can "like" various activities and events throughout the Disney Second Screen experience, and then have the option to tell all your friends on Facebook and Twitter.

Status Updates

Comments
When you sign in to Facebook, all Check-ins, "Likes," Status Updates and tickets will include a comment field for you to share with friends. If you're signed in to Twitter only, these comment fields will be disabled.
